Gold Prices Continue Uptrend: What’s Driving the Surge?

The upward trend in the price of gold in Pakistan continued on Monday, rising to Rs. 221,400 per tola.

The data released by the Karachi Sarafa Association showed that the price of gold (24 carats) increased by Rs. 1000 per tola to Rs. 221,400, while 10 grams of gold also witnessed an increase of Rs. 750 and went up to Rs. 189,558.

The price of gold went up by Rs. 5,200 per tola in the local market last week while the price of 10 grams of silver increased by Rs. 4,248 per tola and was trading at Rs. 17,691.

The price of gold increased by Rs. 4,458 per tola to close at Rs.189,558. Today’s increase is the fourth consecutive rise in the price of yellow metal across the country.

At the global level, gold price hit a two-month high on Monday, and at the time of writing gold reached the last several months’ high and currently trading at $2115 per ounce.
